My crazy summer work trips are coming to an end. My last stop = North Carolina. It was nice way to end my trips because there is absolutely NOTHING to do here so I miss Baltimore so much

I realized I am not a big fan of Southern food after all. This place is known for their ribs and fried okras.

Duke garden is pretty nice.

My officemate who is leaving me to become a faculty

	a week in LA + a weekend in Philadelphia = FOOD FOOD and a lot of FOOD midnight snack in Chinatown - Joe suggested that we are full enough to skip dinner (NO WAY !!) and girls persevered in pouring rain to find FOOD! our breakfast - nacho and phily cheesestakes :)

I miss Costa Rica. I can't believe that it has been almost a month since I was there. I decided to write a script to label 1600 pictures (we had four cameras going all the time) we took and now all the pictures are in nice sequential order.

first dinner - fish with cheese and vegetables in it - YUM

before our hike up Cerro Chato hill- we didn't know what Costa Rican meant by "hill" - definitely different from ones in midwest.

Rafting - what do we see??

two toed sloth - we asked our guide Mr. Victor Hugo how it is different from three toed one- his says "one toe".

Hike around the active volcano Arenal - we could hear rocks rumbling.

Horseback riding in the mountain to next town called Monte Verde - wild cows joined us for a bit. Did you know that cows can run like a horse? My horse 'Volcan' was sweating after carrying me all day - GOOD JOB!

That was only the beginning of the trip. I miss COSTA RICA!!

HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY!

i remember March 7th, 1997. It was snowing in Saint Louis and I was thinking what kind of place has snow in spring and what have I got myself into. Here I am in Baltimore ten years later - looking at snow falling all day in the middle of March! Hopefully I will be somewhere sunny and nice ten years from now
